Here at MPOWER, we’re more than just a private student loan lender. Whether you’re from Admissions, Financial Aid, Bursar, the International Student Office, or elsewhere, we’re here for you. Take a look at the various ways we help you better serve your international and DACA students.

1. Issuing a support letter to help with student visas
We know the visa process can be complicated for international students – and for schools. MPOWER helps expedite the I-20 issuance process by issuing a free support letter for approved student borrowers before they take out a loan with us. Our support letters help you validate that a student has the financial resources necessary to study in the U.S., and, in turn, assists international students in obtaining their visas.

2. Eliminating financial holds for students
If international students have holds placed on their records, they can’t register for classes. This not only impacts the students directly affected by the hold but also takes a toll on enrollment goals and diversity initiatives on your campus. To prevent these holds, MPOWER lends funds to student borrowers for a past-due balance if the loan period covers no more than 180 days since the date of their loan application.

3. Subject matter experts
MPOWER’s University Relations team boasts a combined 30+ years of experience working with colleges and universities around the U.S. We regularly share best practices at industry conferences and are up-to-date on the challenges that higher-education institutions face. With a network of over 300 campuses, your school can leverage our team’s expertise.

4. Educational sessions on your campus
As an advocate for international and DACA students, we believe it is critical to equip borrowers with practical knowledge about their loans. MPOWER can partner with your school’s International Student Services Office to offer in-person educational sessions on topics ranging from Financial Literacy for International Students to Tips & Trends: International Student Job Search. Do you have a topic you want us to come present? Contact us to let us know!

5. Complimentary career services
Our supplemental career strategy services program, Path2Success, offers our student borrowers free resume review, networking opportunities, mock interviews, and more. Path2Success is tailored to international and DACA students and can enhance your school’s existing career services offerings.

6. Support team at your fingertips
MPOWER is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and employs a U.S.-based University Relations team. Our crew of 30+ multilingual employees, a majority of whom are former international students themselves, are available via phone, e-mail, and video chat*. Reach out to us for more information or with any questions. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
